Privacy policy

Please note: This page is a summary of our privacy policy for information purposes. The full German privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung) is the legally binding version. “DSGVO” below is the German name of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data protection at a glance

Personal data is information that can identify you. Data collected on this website is processed by the website operator named in the imprint. You provide some data yourself, for example through a contact form. Our IT systems collect other data automatically when you visit, mainly technical information such as your browser, operating system and time of access. Some data is used to ensure the website functions correctly; other data may be used to analyse user behaviour, generally anonymously. You have the right to request information, free of charge and at any time, about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have rights to rectification, blocking or erasure, and to lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority.

2. General notes and mandatory information

We handle your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection requirements and the full German policy. Data transmitted over the internet, for example by email, may be vulnerable to security breaches; complete protection from third-party access is not possible.

The controller for data processing on this website is: NetzWerkPlan GmbH, Helmut Mersch, Heidelberger Landstraße 186a, 64297 Darmstadt, Germany, phone +49 6151 538300, email anfrage@netzwerkplan.de.

Many types of processing require your consent. You may withdraw it at any time by sending us an email; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. If you believe data protection rules have been breached, you have the right to complain to the relevant supervisory authority: the state data protection officer (Landesdatenschutzbeauftragter) for the German federal state in which our company is based. A list is available at bfdi.bund.de. You also have a right to data portability for data processed automatically on the basis of consent or a contract, where technically feasible. This site uses SSL/TLS encryption, recognisable by “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser. We object to the use of contact details published to meet German imprint requirements for unsolicited advertising.

3. Data protection officer

We have appointed a data protection officer in accordance with Art. 37 et seq. GDPR: Ms Carolin Bauer, aigner business solutions GmbH, email datenschutz@netzwerkplan.de.

4. Data collection on our website

Cookies

This website uses cookies, which are small text files stored by your browser. Most are session cookies and are deleted automatically after your visit. Others remain until you delete them and allow us to recognise your browser when you return. You can configure your browser to notify you about cookies, allow them only in individual cases, block them generally or delete them automatically when you close it. Disabling cookies may limit how the website works. Cookies needed for electronic communication or requested functions are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (our legitimate interest in providing technically reliable services).

Server log files

The provider automatically stores information your browser transmits: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other sources. The information is anonymised by shortening the IP address after no more than seven days. We reserve the right to check the log files if unlawful use is suspected. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

Contact form

If you contact us through a form, we store your entries, including the contact details provided, to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions. We do not pass this information on without your consent. Processing is based solely on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time. We retain the data until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent or the purpose for storing it no longer applies. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected.

5. Analytics tools and advertising

Google Analytics 4 is only used with your consent; details are in section 8.

Google AdWords and conversion tracking

This website uses Google AdWords, an online advertising programme of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States. When you click a Google advert, a conversion-tracking cookie is set. It expires after 30 days and is not used to identify users personally. It allows Google and us to recognise that you clicked the advert and were directed to this site, and is used to compile conversion statistics without personally identifying users. You can object by deactivating the Google conversion-tracking cookie in your browser. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. More information is in Google’s privacy policy.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use Google reCAPTCHA to check whether entries on our websites are made by a person or an automated programme. From the moment a visitor enters the website, reCAPTCHA analyses information such as their IP address, time spent on the site and mouse movements, and sends the data to Google. This analysis runs entirely in the background. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (protection against abusive automated spying and spam). Details are in the links in the German policy.

6. Plugins and tools

The fonts used on this website are hosted locally on our server. No connection is made to servers of Google or other font providers.

7. Use of AI tools

AI-supported tools may be used to assist with individual processing operations, particularly to structure, summarise, reword, translate or prepare information. No automated decision-making, evaluation or profiling takes place. Their use is risk-based and follows internal rules governing approved content. Data processing agreements are in place where required. Systems are configured so that entered data is not used for training, where technically and contractually possible. Tools used include applications in the Microsoft environment such as Microsoft Copilot and Muse, and other approved tools such as ChatGPT and Claude.

8. Cookie settings, statistics and forms

This section supplements the sections above for this website. Where it differs from section 5, this section takes precedence.

Storing your consent choice (local storage)

On your first visit, a notice (“Your privacy”) asks whether you want to allow statistics (Google Analytics) and external content (Tally forms and YouTube videos). Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage (key “nwp-consent-v1”) and is not transmitted to our server. You can change or withdraw it at any time: (also via “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in implementing your choice (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR; § 25 para. 2 TDDDG, the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act).

Google Analytics 4 (only with consent)

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, acting as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR. The Google Analytics 4 script (gtag.js) is loaded only if you allow “Statistics (Google Analytics)”. Without consent, no usage data is sent to Google. Google Signals and use for personalised advertising are deactivated. Processed data includes pages viewed and interactions (without form content), device and browser information and approximate location (country, region, city); according to Google, IP addresses of EU users are not logged or stored. Google Analytics sets the cookies “_ga” and “_ga_<measurement ID>”, each stored for two years. Storage and processing take place only with your consent (§ 25 para. 1 TDDDG, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time in the cookie settings. Retention in our Google Analytics property is set to two months for event data and 14 months for user data. A transfer to Google LLC in the USA cannot be ruled out; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision, Art. 45 GDPR).

Webmetic (visitor identification)

This website uses Webmetic, a service of Webmetic GmbH, Grünwalder Weg 32, 82041 Oberhaching, Germany, for marketing, market research and optimisation. Embedded code transmits your IP address and technical browser and device features to Webmetic, which uses the IP address to determine whether a visit can be assigned to a company. The data is processed pseudonymously and is not used to identify individual visitors. It is deleted once its purpose has been fulfilled and no statutory retention duties apply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing which companies are interested in our offering (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). You can object at any time via the provider’s opt-out: https://webmetic.de/opt-out.

Tally forms (only after action or consent)

The provider is Tally BV, Sint-Pietersnieuwstraat 11, 9000 Gent, Belgium, acting as our processor under Art. 28 GDPR. According to Tally, form data is transmitted and stored encrypted in the European Union and not transferred to third countries; responses we delete are also removed from backups within 90 days. Forms, such as the demo request and contact forms, are not loaded automatically. A connection to Tally is made only if you have allowed “External content” or click to load a form. When the form loads, your IP address and browser and device information are sent to Tally; campaign parameters in the page address (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content, gclid) are passed to the form. Your entries are used to process your enquiry as described in section 4. The legal basis is your consent or deliberate action (§ 25 para. 1 TDDDG, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can also contact us at any time by email or phone.

YouTube videos (only after action or consent)

On our service page we embed training videos from YouTube, provided by Google Ireland Limited, using the privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Videos are not loaded automatically. A connection to YouTube is made only when you play a video or allow “External content”. Your IP address and browser and device information are then transmitted, and YouTube may store cookies or similar technology; a transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out. The legal basis is your consent or deliberate action (§ 25 para. 1 TDDDG, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie settings.
